Occasional anxiety is an expected part of life. You might feel anxious when faced with a problem at work, before taking a test, or before making an important decision. But anxiety disorders involve more than temporary worry or fear. For a person with an anxiety disorder, the anxiety does not go away and can get worse over time. The symptoms can interfere with daily activities such as job performance, school work, and relationships.

Psychosexual disorders are defined as the sexual problems that are psychological in origin and occur in absence of any pathological disease. They often arise because of physical, environmental, or psychological factors, and at times it is difficult to separate one from the other.

Epilepsy is a common condition that affects the brain and causes frequent seizures. Seizures are bursts of electrical activity in the brain that temporarily affect how it works. Myopathy is a general term referring to any disease that affects the muscles that control voluntary movement in the body. Patients experience muscle weakness due to a dysfunction of the muscle fibers. Some myopathies are genetic and can be passed from parent to child.

Parkinsonism

Parkinsonism is any condition that causes a combination of the movement abnormalities seen in Parkinson's disease — such as tremor, slow movement, impaired speech or muscle stiffness — especially resulting from the loss of dopamine-containing nerve cells (neurons).

Prashanti is the culmination of the efforts of 35 year Psychiatry veteran Dr. Mahesh Desai and his brother Mr. Yogesh Desai. This tenacious duo has persevered relentlessly through the stigma associated with mental illness in India to provide efficacious, safe and affordable care to patients of such ailments.
 
From the humble beginnings of a 12x12 feet room to the current state of the art modern clinic, we have evolved through the last few decades armed with the experience and acumen to offer a holistic evidence based treatment approach to our patients.
 
The Prashanti team was bolstered by Dr. Karan Desai(Neurologist), Dr. Kunal Desai(Psychiatrist) and Dr. Purvi Desai(Ophthalmologist) in the recent years. With these additions, we are able to offer to our patients comprehensive solutions for all brain related conditions.
